Coffee is one of the top traded commodities in the world. Specialty coffee sales are increasing by 20% per year and the craft of coffee is growing in popularity and innovation. Deciding what bag of coffee or drink to purchase can be challenging and intimidating. This course will strengthen your knowledge of coffee by providing a forum for the home brewer, coffee enthusiast, and coffee professional to learn the basics of the coffee industry.  Gain an understanding of the origins, production processes, growing regions, and coffee varietals. Students will learn to define the flavor wheel in order to develop their pallet and identify the key elements that are crucial in all brewing methods. This course is a stepping stone for individuals to expand their coffee knowledge and become confident with any coffee purchase made. Coffee sampling will be held every class.
