This 8-week class can also be titled ‘Designing with Disks and Domes’ The class is for students who already are comfortable with basic jewelry techniques (soldering, texturing, sawing, filing, finishing) and would like to focus more on the designing of their own pieces.  We will explore the large jewelry world that features metal disks and domes.  After reviewing images of such jewelry, students will first design and then make their own pieces.  Proper usage of disk cutters and various dapping and forming tools will be taught. Copper and brass sheet and wire will be provided in class, but other metals, needed findings, and any special tools (such as specialty pliers) required by the design(s) will be the responsibility of the student to provide.. The $20 materials fee is included in the cost of the course.”
