Jewelry and Metalworking - Beginning to Advanced 8609K
For all levels of jewelry/metalworking students. Beginners will be given specific projects designed to introduce basic techniques such as sawing, filing, finishing, riveting, soldering, and stone-setting while also allowing room for creativity. Beginner’s toolkit needed-details for purchasing at first class meeting. Intermediate and advanced students are encouraged to develop individual projects and areas of emphasis with the teacher’s guidance. The $20 materials fee is included in the cost of the course.

Jewerly Fabrication Techniques Beginning-Intermediate 9679B
Beginning students will develop a suite of core skills that will provide a foundation for design and fabrication of jewelry works. Focus will be on learning to solder, filing, sawing, drilling, finishing, and the application of patinas. Initial work will be done in copper and brass. A sterling silver ring with a bezel-set cabochon will be the capstone. Students must provide the silver. Intermediate students will learn topics such as married metal, stone setting, rivets, reticulation, granulation, cuttle bone casting, mokume gane, etching, hollow forms, etc. The $20 material fee is included in the cost of the course
