Experience natural medicine first hand.  Learn about the philosophy and basic modalities used to cure the common and uncommon health complaints of today.  This course will include lectures, handouts, discussion and the collective experience of fellow students.  The instructor is a naturopathic doctor with a BS in Biomedical Sciences and a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine with a research background in evidence based medicine.   Materials fees are included in the cost of the course and are $10 . We have student parking in level P2 located underground at the Cesar E Chavez Campus at 1901 Main Street. To access the underground parking, head south on Main St. and turn right into the driveway behind the campus.  We also have a parking structure located at 1902 National Ave. Permits are required for both places. Permits are free for students and are available at the campus. Parking permits are $10 and are available at the campus. Parking permits are not required for Saturday classes.

This course provides students with an awareness of the different types of dementia and common behaviors associated with dementia.   Strategies and techniques are discussed as well as when to employ these skills.  Hands on role play scenarios will be presented and active student participation will be encouraged.   This class offers 2 CEU'S  Attention CNA and CHHA students: A scholarship is available to pay for this course. This course introduces students to a basic overview of providing care to patients with a traumatic brain injury, or TBI.  Under the direction of licensed healthcare providers, TBI healthcare providers will be able to assist patients with social, personal, and mental health issues.  The student will demonstrate strategies for working with TBI individuals, while providing nursing care and physical safety. This class offers 4 CEU'S

In this course, the student will learn the methods and strategies to use when assisting a resident with mobility, transfers and ambulation  after surgical hip repairs.  Hip precautions will be described and terminology will be explained.Certified Nurse Assistants can earn 2 CEUs for the successful completion of this course.

This class is designed to help families learn how to apply homeopathy and hydrotherapy at home.  Both of these tools have been used for centuries in our country and around the world to help with everyday trauma and illness.  It will include the science behind them, safety, hands on use and how to modify it for age or special needs.  Thirty-six homeopathic remedies will be covered and 6 water therapies will be discussed.  Homeopathic kits will be available for purchase in class.  This course stems off the Intro to Naturopathic Medicine course to cover these two subjects in more detail. The $10 materials fee is included in the cost of the course
